With the assistance of professional teachers, you will develop a variety of practical skills required to enter the work force

Forensic Science

Develops practical skills required to analyse and collect forensic evidence

The Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) is the largest provider of vocational education and training in the ACT region with 89% of our graduates either employed or in further study after completing their training.

All courses have February intakes and many also commence in July.

English Language Skills - monthly intakes

English Language Skills – ELICOS

The English program caters for students who want to study for a range of purposes. These include short courses for tourists and visitors who want to improve their general English and longer courses for students planning to study further in Australia. Full time and part time options are available for students.

Services available to International Students

CIT’s International Office offers many support services to international students including:

  • Pre-arrival information on courses
  • Orientation and induction programs
  • Provision of English and mathematics tutorials and a study skills program
  • Post-course and re-orientation advice prior to returning home
  • Free membership of the CIT Students Association which provides a range of advisory and assistance services, as well as cafeterias, bookshops, shops, resource centres, lounges/common rooms, entertainment, social and sporting activities
  • Counselling services - academic and personal
  • Books, journals, magazines, videos, Internet and comfortable study areas are available in the campus libraries to assist you to make the most of your studies
    English Language Assistance. Specialist English Language teachers are available at the Institute’s Individual Learning Centres to assist you with your studies

Accommodation for International Students

CIT’s International Office can arrange good quality accommodation to suit the needs of each student. There are several options that students can choose from including on-campus student residence and well as off campus student residence and homestay. Airport reception is available for students and a representative of CIT will meet them and take them to their accommodation placement.
